UX
I'm a uX design professional with over 20 years of experience
I’ve been working for over two decades as a user experience design professional. I work with brands both big and small across diverse sectors to provide thoughtful user experience design solutions. I am the founder and sole employee of Technique, a UX design and consulting LLC. Previously, I worked at Razorfish as an experience design-focused Creative Director. For several years, I worked with a team dedicated to Mercedes-Benz USA and its digital properties, including Mercedes-Benz.com, the MercedesMe app, Mercedes-Benz Vans, Freightliner Vans, MBFS, and smart USA. I have substantial experience within the automotive space, having also worked with Ford, Genesis, and Kia among other manufacturers. I also have extensive experience within additional verticals such as media, finance, telecommunications, non-profits, e-commerce, etc. I also work with non-profits and human rights organizations to help focus and refine their digital experiences, sometimes on a pro bono basis.
I worked with Razorfish and then, after Razorfish and Sapient merged, at Publicis Sapient. At Razorfish I worked with a team to redesign EMC.com, which was awarded WebAwards’ Best Information Services Website and Best Technology Website. I contributed as a content strategist and copywriter to the WWD.com redesign, which won Razorfish an award for Best of the Web in Design from min. And I worked as a UX designer on the redesign for the Travel Channel site, which won Best Travel Website in the 2010 WebAward Competition.
Previously, I worked in the Interactive Design Group at Wachovia for four-and-a-half years. I helped the bank combine two legacy intranet sites and an interim site into a single new intranet. We then successfully migrated hundreds of sub sites into that intranet. In 2003, Nielsen Norman Group awarded our small team one of its prestigious Ten Best Intranets of the Year awards.
I also worked as a content developer and information architect for both Computer Associates and iXL.
I have spoken on the topic of experience design and conducted workshops for numerous companies, organizations and conferences, including Chanel, Publicis Sapient, New York University, University of Maryland, University of Wisconsin-Madison, Design Museum Week, Hackers on Planet Earth (HOPE), The Internet Freedom Festival, SXSW, UX Sketch Camp NYC, and the Brooklyn Product Design Meetup. I also write regularly about UX design for platforms such as Medium, UX Collective, and UX Magazine.
I teach experience design at the School of Visual Arts Continuing Education program in Manhattan. To refine my own qualifications, I earned a Certificate in Privacy & Data Security at Georgetown University in 2018 and a Certificate from DFRLab’s 360/Digital Sherlocks Program in 2023.
